000 file extension - IsoBuster recovered CD/DVD image

What is 000 file? How to open 000 files?

File type specification:

Disk image (ISO) binary file type icon Disk image (ISO) binary file type

000 file icon: 000 filetype icon

File extension 000 is nowadays mostly associated with IsoBuster, a CD/DVD and (Disk)Image File data recovery tool, that can read and extract files, tracks and sessions from CD-i, VCD, SVCD, CD-ROM, CD-ROM XA, DVD, DVCD and others. It also supports many other image file formats.

This types of 000 files are used for data recovery image files. IsoBuster 000 files are very similar to standard ISO files, but use different header data. Generic ISO multi volume images use extensions from .000, .001, .003...etc.

They are best combined with a vc4 file, which describes the content of the 000 file. However if the vc4 file is corrupt or gone, IsoBuster can open the file and treat the file as a generic image.
