Software that can be used for for conversion of Google Drive gsheet spreadsheets to XLS format.
You cannot directly convert a .gsheet spreadsheet (generated by Google Drive) to MS Excel spreadsheet format (.xls), so no gsheet to xls conversion is possible. A .gsheet file is but a link to the spreadsheet and not the actual spreadsheet.
You will have to first open the link in Google Drive and use the export function to save it to local drive in a format of your choice, typically XLS.
Unfortunately, there is no detailed software record in the database for this conversion.

GSHEET
Files with gsheet extension are URL links to a spreadsheet created in Google Drive. It is not the actual spreadsheet, just an URL link. You can download the spreadsheet from Google Drive in more typical format, like *.xlsx or *.ods.
XLS
Files with xls extension are best known as spreadsheets from Microsoft Excel. A spreadsheet is basically a grid of cells sorted in rows and columns. Each cell can contain text, numeric or formula data. Excel XLS spreadsheets can be opened in most other similar programs, such as OpenOffice.org Calc.
