ArtRage painting software supports both export and import of JPEG pictures (.jpg, .jpeg), so you should be able to use such files to save a .ptg project should you need it. It is unlikely you can make jpeg to ptg conversion work in other 3rd party program, as ArtRage projects are limited only to the native program.
