The most convenient way to convert text documents saved in .pages files to Microsoft Word document (.doc, .docx) format would be to use any of the Pages apps for OS X or iOS.
On Windows, the alternative would be to install the latest version of LibreOffice suit that apparently supports some versions of iWorks documents. This may not always be perfect, and some formatting may be lost during the conversion process.
However, if you don't have a Mac or iOS device with Pages, or you cannot open your .pages files in LibreOffice, there is still hope. You can rename .pages file extension to .zip ► unpack the archive ► find file preview.pdf file and open it in any PDF viewer.
Preview.pdf file stores preview of Pages document with text formatting and other settings. You can use Microsoft Word 2013 to edit, or Adobe Acrobat Reader view it.
