Whenever you import a document (like RTF) to Google Docs and save it there, a .gdoc link file is automatically created on your computer. This acts as link to the document and does not contain the actual document data, which actually means no rtf to gdoc conversion is required.

You just need to upload the document to Google Docs and save the link, which will be represented as the .gdoc file.

Unfortunately, there is no detailed software record in the database for this conversion.
