The cta file extension is related to ColorTouch Assistant from Venstar. The program allows users o set up and program their Venstar ColorTouch Thermostat.
The Assistant takes all of settings and writes them out to a .cta file. That file is put onto an SD card, which is inserted into the SD slot on the thermostat. You then instruct the thermostat to read the settings off of the SD card, at which point your thermostat is programed with your settings.
When this file is present on SD card, the Venstar ColorTouch Thermostat will automatically apply these settings.
Settings files cannot be usually converted to anything useful.
