AutoCAD comes with several different CUIx files that can be tailored for specific work environment. AutoCAD has two main designations for CUIx files, main and enterprise.
By default, AutoCAD uses a main CUIx file. Users can customize the files that come with AutoCAD or create their own CUIx files from scratch using the Transfer tab in the Customize User Interface (CUI) Editor.
When customizing the CUIx files that come with AutoCAD or creating new CUIx files, the Customize User Interface (CUI) Editor creates a backup copy of the file when first changes are made to the CUIx file.
This allows users to restore the file if it has been deleted. CUIx files that comes with AutoCAD can be reset back to its original state.
