Cumulus

Developer / company: Information is not available

Cumulus is a free and open-source flight navigation application, programmed in C++ and aimed at the soaring community but not restricted to it. The first generation of Cumulus runs on Zaurus and iPaq hardware with a Linux OS under Qtopia respectively Opie by using Qt release 2.x. With the disappearance of the old hardware platforms new alternatives must be searched.

One hardware platform are the Nokia Internet Tablets N800, N810 and N900 with Maemo OS2008/OS2009 by using Qt frame work release 4.x. They have a Linux based OS called Maemo and the installation of Cumulus is simply possible by using the program manager. There is no need to flash the OS or to do any other manipulations on it. But the Nokia Internet Tablets are not more produced and Nokia has given up this line in the meantime.

The current hardware platform has been opened with Google's Android OS. There are a lot of devices on the market. Josua Dietze did a first port of Cumulus in 2011 to this new platform but his port had some limitations and not all features of Cumulus were available. In the beginning of 2012 there was made a full port of Cumulus by Axel Pauli and provided for free on Google play. Many thanks to Josh. He helped Axel in the starting phase.

Note: You can click on any file extension link from the list below, to view its detailed information. The list of extensions used or otherwise associated with the application may not be complete, because many common file extensions on our website, such as jpg (pictures) or txt (text files), can be opened by a large number of applications, or are too general file format. However most, if not all directly associated file extensions should be listed with its appropriate program. Although its likely, that some file extensions may be missing from the list of associated file extensions with the application, yet they can be opened, be part of, or otherwise be associated with the program.
