File extension d seems to also have been used for old SPPACK audio format from AT&T Bell Laboratories. Most likely had some kind special use, like saving speech, but it is no longer actively used.
Perhaps some audio editors may still be capable of playing SPPACK audio.
Unfortunately, we do now know about any converter that would be capable of converting d audio files. Nevertheless, it may be possible.
