EET is a binary data storage and serialization format developed for the Enlightenment project. Enlightenment is a window manager and desktop environment for Linux/Unix systems, including systems using X11.
An eet file can contain application data, configuration data, or other resources used by Enlightenment or an application built with its libraries. The file is normally an internal resource rather than a document intended for direct editing.
An eet file is normally used by Enlightenment or the Enlightenment-based application that created it, rather than opened by a general-purpose desktop application. On Linux/Unix, the EET command-line utility supplied with the Enlightenment libraries can be used to inspect or extract data when appropriate.
Do not edit the file as plain text. If it is not recognized by the expected application, it may be an internal or application-specific resource.
There is no general-purpose conversion from EET to another format because an eet file can contain application-specific serialized data. Use the Enlightenment or EFL-based application that created the file to export its contents, if that application provides an export function.
The EET command-line utility may allow compatible data to be extracted, but this is not a universal conversion method and extracted data may not be usable without the original application.
