There is no universal conversion method for an fdi file. Some emulators and disk-imaging tools can export an image to a raw floppy-image format such as IMG, but conversion may lose information from unusual or copy-protected disks.
When possible, use the software that created the image to export or write it to a physical floppy disk. Otherwise, keep the original fdi file and use it directly with compatible emulation software.
