The frm file extension is associated with MySQL, a popular relational database management system (RDBMS).
Every MySQL table is represented by MySQL database metadata file on disk as a *.frm file (also known as "Format" file).
A *.frm file describes the table's format (table definition) including fields and structure of each table. The file has the same name as the table. FRM files are also important for MySQL database recovery.
Old database system dBase was also using FRM file extension for one of its format. However, this format, known as dBase FRM report is in no way related to MySQL FRM format.
