The fbx file extension is associated with the Steinberg Cubase, a music composing software. Usually, a .fbx file is a VST (Virtual Studio Technology) Plugin/VSTi Bank preset file standard created by Steinberg Media Technologies.
They were introduced in Steinberg Cubase VST, implemented in Cubase SX but discontinued in Cubase 4. FXB presets hold a whole bank of sounds and are normally used to save the setup for Multi-Timbral VSTi's.
You can import these files to Steinberg to add special audio bank presets.
Plug-in files usually cannot be converted to anything else.
