The LAVS file extension is associated with Liquid Audio Player and was used for secure streaming voucher files in Liquid Audio's proprietary digital music delivery system.
Liquid Audio Player used these files as part of its secured download and streaming process. The associated MIME type is audio/x-liquid-secure.
LAVS files were intended for Liquid Audio Player on Microsoft Windows. Liquid Audio's software and delivery service are legacy products, so the format is no longer commonly supported.
On Microsoft Windows, open a LAVS file with Liquid Audio Player, if the player is installed and the related Liquid Audio service is still available. The file may not open independently because it is part of a protected delivery system.
Current media players generally cannot open LAVS files.
A LAVS file cannot normally be converted directly to MP3, WAV, or another audio format because it is a secured download or voucher file, not a conventional audio file.
If Liquid Audio Player can still use the file to obtain the authorized recording, conversion would apply to the resulting audio, not to the LAVS file itself.
