LRC is a kind of lyrics format with time tags to synchronize with media files. There are a few media players and plugins support LRC format: Media Commands, Lyrics Library, Lyrics Power, Lyrics Universe and Winamp Lyrics3 plugin.

Simple LRC Format: it is a LRC format developed by Kuo (Djohan) Shiang-shiang and his lyrics displayer was probably the first program that tried to simulate Karaoke performance. This format contains only time tags for lines and doesn't support real-time lyrics line progressive coloring. All players mentioned above support this format.

Enhanced Lyrics Format: it is a more powerful LRC format developed by Media Commands based on the simple LRC format. Time tag for word (or syllable) is allowed. With skillful synchronization technique, this format can be used to simulate real Karaoke performance by doing real-time lyrics line progressive coloring. This format is already used in real-time Video Karaoke Show. Currently, only Media Commands supports this format.

How to convert file with extension LRC:

If your opened file type is simple text file, you don't need to converting it. You can rename file extension to .txt or text file extension you currently need for your associated program or project. There can be sometimes problems with right character encoding recognition and determining of used charset for text in the file and consequently converting into character set you want. Look for some text encoding converter software if your text editor can't convert text into code charset you need.

If your file is not simple text file (viewed text is corrupted, contains unknown symbols, special characters or binary code), you will need to find native text editor or word processing program for this file type or similar program capable to import this text file format.
