The MDX file extension is associated with Microsoft SQL Server. File contains database index. Database indexing enables full text indexing of Microsoft® SQL Server and Access databases using ODBC and Active Server Pages (ASP).
MDX extension is also used in other programs for their database indexes. Including Borland, or dBase. These just share the same extension and purpose but are otherwise unrelated to Microsoft's MDX format.
