MPEG Layer 3 lossy audio compression algorithm was developed by Karlheinz Brandenburg on German Fraunhofer Institute and introduced it in 1991. MPEG Layer 3 uses perceptual audio coding to compress CD-quality sound with almost the same fidelity.
Use Winamp to playback mpu files.
Compatible tools are able to export *.mpu files to other formats.
