Baldur's Gate

The popular Baldur's Gate series take place on Faerûn.
Baldur's Gate features revolutionary graphics using an isometric view, dynamic lighting, 3D height maps, and real-time light-sourcing and sprites moving through a pre-rendered world of 16-bit color objects and terrain on five CDs full of over 10,000 scrolling game screens.
Combat is real-time, with the option for pseudo turn-based control. Tapping the space bar freezes time, and while the game is frozen, you can plan out the actions of your party members.
Baldur's Gate features over 100 hours of gameplay in an immense game world depicted with vibrance and fluidity, featuring visually impressive special effects like dynamic full-color lighting effects, dynamic changes in character appearance, realistic day to night changes, rain, snow, fog, lightning, all occuring in real-time.

Descent 2

Descent 2 is a brilliant game from the minds of Interplay. It, like its predecessor, Descent combines flight sim gaming with first person shooting. Descent 2 continues the story of the alien virus that infected the mines in the earth solar system by sending you to work outside of the solar system. New worlds are introduced each one cleverly designed. New weapons are added, the bosses and enemies are tough. This game will provide hours of magnificent gaming. At times, the levels can be frustrating as you fly in circles but there are plenty of walkthroughs online that can help you out.

Descent 2 is one of the best games to come out for the PC. It is addicting, has great graphics, and the storyline is pretty good, considering its simplicity. Gameplay is pretty consistent. You fly your ship through mines acquiring weapons, rescuing hostages, hunting for keys, and then taking out the reactor of each mine. The challenge is finding the exit to the mine and getting out before the reactor blows up. You will repeat this or a few levels and will find a boss. The boss fights are touch and challenging. Each level includes a guide-bot to help you find those energy rooms, weapons, keys, etc. Thus making your life a whole lot easier as you strive to work your way through the depths of the mines. Each world also includes a warp to a secret level where you can gain more ammo, weapons, and kill a lot more baddies.

Overall, I give it a 5/5 stars. Descent 2 is a classic game that showcases great level design, great action and gameplay, brilliant graphics, and even Multi-player support. I have never played with the multiplayer mode, but having read the strategy guide, it outlines several cool features including markers as spy-cams.

MDK

MDK is a third-person shooter game developed by Shiny Entertainment and released in 1997 by Playmates Interactive Entertainment for the PC, Macintosh, and subsequently PlayStation. It was one of the first PC games to require a Pentium or equivalent processor, (although it could also run on a 486 processor by using a version specific command line argument) and did not initially have a GPU requirement. The game soundtrack, composed by Tommy Tallarico, was also released.

The game tells the story of its protagonist, Kurt Hectic and his attempts to rescue Earth from an alien invasion of gigantic strip mining city-vehicles named 'Minecrawlers', which are not only removing all of earth's natural resources but are also flattening any people and cities that get in their way. The game combined fast action with fully 3D rendered, state-of-the art (for the time) graphics and a warped sense of humour. It featured a "sniper mode" that allowed the player to zoom in on enemy targets.
