The pce file extension is associated with Eudora, an e-mail client developed by QUALCOMM Incorporated for Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS X (macOS).
The pce file contains Eudora's mailbox name map. It is a supporting file used with Eudora's mailbox data rather than a mailbox containing the messages themselves.
This is a legacy, program-specific format intended for Eudora's internal use.
A pce file is normally read automatically by Eudora from the program's data folder. It is not intended to be opened or edited as a standalone document.
Use the version of Eudora that created the file, where available, and keep it in the appropriate Eudora data folder. Opening it with a text editor or another e-mail program will not display the mailbox correctly.
A mailbox name map has no useful standalone conversion format, so a pce file cannot normally be converted directly.
If the goal is to move e-mail, open the related mailboxes in Eudora and use its available export or migration features. The mailbox messages, rather than the name map, are the data that should be converted.
