File extension pro is often used by various program for profile and configuration files.

A profile generally contains saved settings, which are used to help users to quickly change between various saved configurations.

Profiles might contain data about GUI elements and saved positions of window, various program settings, default locations and parameters etc.

These files are only usable in the program that created them, and are usually not meant to be opened directly, rather the program looks for them in specific location.

The pro file extension is related to the Adobe Proto, an application developed for Apple iOS and Google Android, which enables users to create interactive wireframes and website prototypes.

The pro file contains design created in Adobe Proto.

The pro file extension is also used by Ape - Atari emulator for a special proprietary disk image formatted used by APE and the ProSystem.

The pro file extension is associated with the PATCHMASTER, a multi-channel stimulation and acquisition software for Microsoft Windows operating system.

The pro file contains some kind of data used by PATCHMASTER.

The pro file extension was also by Power Renderer program for its object files.

Power Render was a 3D game and rendering engine designed for developers using Microsoft Visual C++ and DirectX 9. Its development officially ceased in 2010 and the program is no longer supported.

Note: Chord Pro software by Mussoft and Creamware Pulsar soundcard also used *.pro files that were related to audio production.

However both programs are no longer available and not supported. These programs are not in any way related to ProPresenter program, just share the PRO file extension for their files.

The pro file extension is known to be used in several computer games for some of their resource files.

These include Sid Meier's SimGolf and games based on Bioware's proprietary Infinity game engine like Baldurs gate.

Data formats from these games both use file extension PRO, but that's where their similarity ends. Both are used for different purposes and not related.
