Qt Style Sheets provide a CSS-like way to customize the look of Qt user interfaces. A QSS file contains text-based style rules for properties such as colors, fonts, borders and widget-specific appearance.
Qt applications load these rules at runtime and apply them to the whole application or to individual widgets. The file is separate from the application's source code, so a user interface theme can be changed without modifying the widgets themselves.
Qt is a cross-platform application and user-interface framework, used for desktop, mobile and embedded operating systems. Qt was formerly associated with Nokia and is now maintained by The Qt Company. QSS remains a supported part of Qt, and Qt Creator is available on multiple desktop platforms.
Open a .qss file in Qt Creator or any text editor. Because it is a text-based file, a specialized QSS viewer is not required.
To see its effect, load the file as a style sheet in a Qt application. Opening it by itself only displays the style rules and does not apply them to an application.
There is no standard conversion from a .qss file to another file format. QSS is already a text-based style sheet, and its rules can be edited directly in Qt Creator or a text editor.
A style sheet for another user-interface toolkit may require manual rewriting because QSS selectors and properties are specific to Qt.
