Turbo Pascal, originally developed by Borland, uses unit files to store compiled Pascal code that can be reused by other programs. A TPX file is the compiled form of a unit rather than its human-readable source.
The source for a unit is normally kept in a Pascal source file, while the TPX file provides the compiled code that Turbo Pascal can use during compilation and linking. The format belongs to the legacy MS-DOS version of Turbo Pascal.
Open the file with the MS-DOS version of Turbo Pascal. It is a compiled unit, so it is normally used by the compiler as part of a Pascal project rather than opened as editable text.
To view or modify the code, locate the original Pascal source file for the unit. A text editor can display a source file, but not the compiled contents of a TPX file in a useful form.
A TPX file has no useful general-purpose conversion to another format. If the original Pascal source is available, open it in a compatible Turbo Pascal environment and compile it again to produce the required unit format.
The compiled file cannot normally be converted back into the original, editable Pascal source.
