Files with upoi file extension can be usually encountered as point of interest files for iGO navigation devices and navigation software.

The upoi file extension contains points of interest (POIs) that can be saved along with a GPS navigation map. It is used by iGO application for marking and saving locations within a map.
These files are meant for iGo devices, but it seems that some other programs may be able to read them as well.
Various GPS/NAvigation format converters can be used to conver *.upoi files to some exchange formats. The online POI editor can also be used for conversion of *.upoi files.
