BioWare's Aurora engine uses UTS files to define sounds placed in a game area. A sound can be positional, playing from a specific location, or area-wide, sounding the same regardless of the listener's location.
A UTS file contains audio data and the sound object's settings. Sounds are stored in the game and toolset using BioWare's Generic File Format (GFF), so the file is an engine resource rather than a conventional standalone audio file.
UTS files are used by Neverwinter Nights on Microsoft Windows and are handled alongside other Aurora game and module files.
