A .vsq file is a project file for the Vocaloid singing voice synthesizer. It stores a vocal performance as musical and pronunciation data rather than as recorded audio.
VSQ files are also supported for import by UTAU, another singing voice synthesizer for Microsoft Windows.

The VSQ format was developed for Vocaloid, a singing voice synthesizer from Yamaha Corporation for Microsoft Windows and Apple iOS. A VSQ file contains the sequence used to generate a vocal part, including notes, timing, lyrics and expression settings.
The file does not contain the final singing as an audio recording. Vocaloid uses the sequence together with an installed voice database to synthesize the performance. The resulting audio can then be rendered or exported separately.
VSQ files are associated primarily with Vocaloid software for Microsoft Windows and can also be imported by UTAU for Microsoft Windows. VSQ is an older Vocaloid project format, while newer Vocaloid software may use other project formats.
Open the .vsq file in compatible VOCALOID software on Microsoft Windows. The required voice database may also need to be installed for the sequence to play or render correctly.
UTAU for Microsoft Windows can import VSQ files. Support for particular sequence features may vary between programs and versions.
A VSQ file is an editable vocal sequence, not an audio file, so general audio converters cannot convert it directly. Open it in compatible Vocaloid software or UTAU and render the performance to an audio format such as WAV.
To retain an editable sequence, use the importing and saving options provided by compatible Vocaloid software. Conversion to another project format may not preserve every VSQ feature.
