Microsoft Live Mesh was a Microsoft service for synchronizing files and folders between Windows computers. WLC files contain internal data used by the service in connection with its synchronization activity.
A WLC file normally belongs to the Live Mesh installation and is not a standalone file for users to open or edit. Its contents are intended to be handled by the Live Mesh software.
Live Mesh has been discontinued, so the WLC format is obsolete and is no longer in normal use.
WLC files were intended to be processed by Microsoft Live Mesh on Windows, rather than opened manually. Because Live Mesh has been discontinued, current Windows software generally cannot open these files.
Do not rename or edit the file. If it came from an old synchronized folder, look for the original user files or a backup instead.
There is no standard conversion for a WLC file. It is an internal Live Mesh data file, not a document or media format with a useful export function.
To preserve the useful data, copy the original synchronized files or restore them from a backup rather than trying to convert the WLC file.
