The xys file extension is used for XYplorer script file - a script library created with XYplorer which is a multi-tabbed dual pane file manager for Windows.
It includes custom commands written in the XYplorer Scripting language. It may be used to automate common tasks.
XYplorer Scripting was introduced with XYplorer 7.0.
Use XYplorer to open *.xys script files.

These files contain image, together with special metadata. Probably very rare used format.
Programs that work with microscope images should be able to import and open this format, for example Bio-Formats.
