The z80 file extension is associated with ZX Spectrum emulators and used for memory snapshots.
They contain an image of the contents of the ZX Spectrum memory at a particular instance in time.
As a result of this, they cannot be used to reproduce the original tape from a snapshot file, but do load almost immediately.
Use compatible emulators to work with *.z80 snapshot files.
Conversion to other formats is not possible.
