A DLC container is a very comfortable way how you can share many download links at once. These files are frequently shared amongst JDownloader users. If you are not familiar with the program and got such DLC file from a friend you might wonder what you should and how you should work with it.
JDownloader is a an open-source download management program that makes downloading from many sources at once a very easy and comfortable thing to do. You can download it from its website for free.
In this small article we will show you how JDownloader's DLC download containers work, how you can import and create them.
How JDownloader works
It is rather simple. You add download links to the program through a link grabber and they will save up in a list. It works especially well with file share services like RapidShare or Ulozto. You just copy (Ctrl + C) the URL of the download location while the program is active, and it will automatically grab the link and add to the download list.
Once in the list, you can see the Size, Host server and status of the download. Then you can either proceed with the download with the Continue with all Button. You will most likely see a CAPTCHA window which you need to complete to download the files.
You can also find JDownloader plugins and extensions for most web browsers, that seamlessly integrate to it and allow you even easier manipulation with download links.
How to create DLC container in JDownloader
Again, it is very simple. Instead of downloading the files in he list we covered in previous part, you can choose to save it to a DLC container. You can do that via File ► Save ► Save Linklist option. That will create a file with DLC file extension that contains saved list of the links. You can also encrypt it with password during the saving process. You can then share this file to your friends or associates who can open it in their JDownloader, import the list and download the files from the links saved in the container.
How to work with DLC container in JDownloader
If you have JDownloader installed, *.dlc files are associated with it by default. You can simply double click on the DLC container and it will be imported to your JDownloader.
