The BKS file extension is associated with IBM Softcopy Reader. A part of the BookManager family of products, the IBM Softcopy Reader is a Java-based online documentation reader and organizer made up of two programs, the Book Reader and the Shelf Organizer.
If you are familiar with the original IBM Library Reader (ILR) tool from BookManager, the Softcopy Reader was introduced in 2000 to replace the ILR. Either of the tools can be used to read BookManager Books, but the older ILR is no longer supported, and may be used only on an "as is" basis. We now recommend the newer Softcopy Reader tool.
