It looks like that 3ds Max / 3D Studio MAX ASCII scene files (.asc) can be exported to DWG format with AutoCAD or similar program. Unfortunately, we weren't able to determine the specifics of asc to dwg conversion, but perhaps it is doable using some 3D converter.

ASC
An asc file extension extension is used for a ASCII format of 3D Studio Max for 3D scenes. This format was developed as an interchange solution between various 3D modeling applications. Can be viewed in any text editor, however its data are meant for specialized 3D software, such as AutoCAD or 3D Studio Max.
DWG
A dwg file extension is used for standard CAD file format, originally used by AutoCAD. A DWG is a proprietary format and can only be created in AutoCAD. Other CAD programs can usually import it but not create its proprietary form. Because of this, DWGs are often exported to DXF interchange format so that they can be seamlessly used in other CAD programs.
