Find a software converter able to convert crypt12 files to png files.
Many users are trying to recover pictures from WhatsApp archives (.crypt7 for example), under assumption that the images are included in the backups.
This is unfortunately not the case, because any pictures (for example .png) that were send via WhatsApp are saved locally, to be more specific in the Media/WhatsApp picture folder. The pictures are then linked to Android Gallery from this location.
All this means that it is not possible to convert crypt12 to png and actually not even needed. If you do not have the pictures on your phones, it is likely that they were deleted. But you may still be able to find them in full phone backup if you made one around the time you have received the pictures via WhatsApp.
Unfortunately, there is no detailed software record in the database for this conversion.
This conversion entry was verified by us and conversion from crypt12 to png was flagged as wrong or not possible.
Usually this happens when the conversion would try to convert different types of data between each other, such as audio to image, or it can't be done because incompatibility between programs, caused by closed file formats, very limited support or by other problems.

Files with crypt12 extension can be found as encrypted chat history databases from latest version of WhatsApp Messenger instant messaging client for Android.
PNG
Files with png extensions are commonly used for Portable Network Graphic files. PNG is a bitmap image mainly used on web pages.
A png file extension is related to the Corel PaintShop Pro and used for its browser catalogue files.
A png file extension is related to the Adobe Fireworks. A png file stores Firework's PNGs are based on the Portable Network Graphic (PNG) format, but contain additional proprietary metadata.
