Using Google Docs app users may export their documents to several formats, including MS Word documents (.doc, .docx) However, a .gdoc file is not the document saved on Google Docs, but just a link to it from the computer. You will need to access and open the actual document using the links and use the save option in Google Docs to get your Word document.

Files with gdoc extension are URL links to a document created in Google Drive. It is not the actual document, just link. You can download the document from Google Drive in more typical format, like docx or odt.
DOC
doc file extension is commonly used for text documents created in Microsoft Word word processor prior version 2003. Word's DOC documents can be opened in almost every (if not every) other word processor, such as OpenOffice.org Writer or iWork Pages.
