MP3 playlists (.m3u8) are already text files, so there is actually no reason to even attempt some kind of m3u8 to text conversion. You can open and edit these files using any text editor and of course if you really wish to, you can change the extension to txt. It just makes the files no longer automatically associated as playlists for use in media players.
