The only mdl to slx conversion we know of, would be export of Simulink simulation models (.mdl) to MATLAB model format (.slx), or something like import of Simulink to MATlab. Unfortunately, we do not know about any other software capable of this.

MDL
An mdl file extension is related to the Simulink software. An mdl file contains simulation model.
