Programs used to perform the conversion from rep file to mp4 format.
In most cases, rep to mp4 conversion is related to attempts to export some game replays (sometimes saved as .rep files) and turn them into MPEG-4 multimedia files (.mp4) so they can be played back using a standard media player.
Through the years, many games used or are still using .rep files for this purpose, so there is no clear guide on how to proceed; just the overall steps are always the same:
- play the replay in the original game
- use screen recording tool to capture it
- edit and export the video using video editor.
In the last years, .rep replays are almost exclusively searched in context of Command and Conquer Generals or the Zero Hour addon and many .rep files can be downloaded from sites such as gamereplays.org
