It looks like that sdc to txt conversion is just export between older OpenOffice.org spreadsheets (.sdc files) to newer format used in modern versions of the program (.ods files). Any program that can be used to open .sdc file can also be used to save them as basic text files, just keep in mind this will remove any formatting.
