VectorWorks is the only program that can reliably export .vwx files and it also supports saving to Autocad format (.dwg), so is obvious choice for vwx to dwg conversion.

As far as we know, AutoCAD does not support Nemetschek VectorWorks graphics (.vwx) and same goes to other similar CAD /3D modeling alternatives. Unfortunately, we haven't found any type of vwx to dwg converter or similar utility, so using VectoWorks to convert vwx to dwg seems to be the only option.

VWX

Files with vwx extension can be found as design created and saved using VectorWorks 12.5 and later.

DWG

Files with dwg extension are used for the original CAD format originally introduced in Autodesk AutoCAD. The latest version of DWG format is usuaually proprietary and can only be created in AutoCAD. Other CAD programs can usually import it but not create its proprietary form. Because of this, DWGs are often exported to DXF interchange format so that they can be seamlessly used in other CAD programs.
