Both .xjt and .gz files are images saved using the GIMP graphics editor with the difference being that .xjt files are JPEG compressed while .gz files are not. But both are actually outdated and modern GIMP uses XCF format instead. In any case GIMP is the software you have to use if you need to work with either of these file types.
