The ACE file extension is used for the native format of WinACE archiver. WinAce is not just another archiving shell. With it's own powerful compression format ACE and built-in support for other popular compression types like ZIP, RAR and MS-CAB (to name a few), WinAce could actually become the only archiver you need.
In order to unpack the multi-volume ACE archive, you need to place ALL of the split parts in the same directory and start extraction of the first volume. The program will automatically use all of the parts to extract the content of the archive.
The *.c40 file is only one part of WinACE split compressed archive. If you want to extract this file, you must have all parts of the WinACE split compressed archive. Open the first part of WinACE (*.ace file) split compressed archive in WinACE application and extract files from WinACE split compressed archive.
It is not possible to convert only one part of ACE multi-volume archive. Only complete ACE archive can be converted in to another archive or compression format.
