The vpm file extension is related to Garmin personal navigation GPS devices.
A vpm file contains voice data for a specific speech style, such as American English. It is used to define sound alerts as well as the way navigation systems speak directions while driving.
It is probably based on the VPIM specification. VPIM defines a restricted profile of the Internet multimedia messaging protocols for use between voice processing platforms.
These platforms have historically been special-purpose computers and often do not have the same facilities normally associated with a traditional Internet Email-capable computer.
As a result, VPIM also specifies additional functionality as it is needed. The profile is intended to specify the minimum common set of features to allow interworking between compliant systems.
These files can most likely be imported to Garmin GPS devices.

The vpm file extension is also used by Vox Proxy, a program used to create talking animated characters in presentations. It contains scripted program instructions to invoke Vox Proxy functions. It can be used to drive slide shows or animate talking characters.
The *.vpm files can be opened as hyperlinks to execute macro functionality.
It is not convertable file format.
