The EFE file extension is used for Ensoniq EPS instrument files. Individual Ensoniq instrument files have an extension .EF?. The third letter ? in file extension means type of Ensoniq synthesizers.
The easiest way to open, edit and convert these files is via Audacity; a free open source program. You can not drag and drop these files into Audacity. You must first open Audacity, go to the 'Project' tab and select 'Import Raw Data...'. To get the most out of these sound files try to import them using the following parameters:

- 1 Channel (Mono)
- Offset: 0 bytes
- Import amount: 100%
- Sample rate: 44100 Hz
After you are finished editing, simply export your work as .wav or .mp3.
