Cygwin is a Linux-like environment for Microsoft Windows. Its terminal-handling software uses terminfo entries to determine supported features such as control sequences, screen dimensions, colors, and cursor movement.
The .10nv file is part of the Cygwin terminfo database. It is intended to be read by terminal libraries and utilities rather than edited as an ordinary text document.
Terminfo remains part of the Cygwin environment. The entry is normally installed alongside other terminal descriptions and is used automatically when a Cygwin application needs information about the current terminal.
Open this file in a Cygwin terminal with the infocmp utility, which can display a terminfo entry in a readable form. The utility is included with the Cygwin terminal-support tools.
A text editor can open the file as binary data, but it will not provide a useful representation of the terminal description. It is normally best left in the Cygwin terminfo database.
A terminfo entry is not normally converted to another document format. In Cygwin, infocmp can produce a textual representation of the entry, and the tic compiler can compile a terminfo source file back into a database entry.
