OctaMED is music composition software for the Commodore Amiga. The 8MED format stores a complete tracker-based song, including its samples, patterns, sequences and other module data.
The format is a legacy Amiga music format and is now mainly encountered in collections of Amiga software and music. It is intended for use with OctaMED or compatible Amiga music players rather than as a general-purpose audio file.
Open an 8MED file with OctaMED on a Commodore Amiga. On another computer, an Amiga emulator running OctaMED may provide a practical way to load the file.
Some Amiga music players may also support 8MED playback, but compatibility can vary between programs and OctaMED versions.
8MED is a tracker module format, not a rendered audio format. Open it in OctaMED or a compatible player and export or record the playback to a standard audio format if an audio copy is required.
