The bdjo file extension belongs to the Blu-ray Disc Java (BD-J) platform, which uses Java applications to provide interactive disc features. BDJO files are normally stored in the BDMV/BDJO directory of a Blu-ray disc or disc image.
A BDJO file contains application and playback-related descriptors for the disc's BD-J content. Its information can include the name of a JAR file containing an Xlet and the initial class name that the player should start.
The file is part of a Blu-ray disc's authoring structure rather than a general-purpose Java source or document file. It is used by BD-J-capable Blu-ray players and authoring software, and is not normally opened independently by desktop Java.
A bdjo file is normally read automatically by a BD-J-capable Blu-ray player as part of a complete disc or Blu-ray disc image. Java by itself does not open the file as a readable document.
For inspection, the file can be viewed as binary data in a suitable hex editor, but its contents are intended for Blu-ray authoring and playback software.
There is no general-purpose conversion from a bdjo file to another useful document format. It is a compiled descriptor used within a Blu-ray BD-J structure.
To change its contents, the BD-J disc project should be edited in compatible authoring software and rebuilt. The authoring process can then generate a new BDJO file.
