Braincrypt is a ransomware program written in the Go programming language. It encrypts files on an infected computer and appends the .braincrypt file extension to them.
The ransomware leaves a ransom note named !!! HOW TO DECRYPT FILES !!!.txt. The note contains the attackers' instructions for recovering the encrypted files.
A file with this extension is not a separate document format; it is an encrypted version of the original file and is not intended for use by ordinary file programs.
