Chasys Draw image
File type: Bitmap image file
A cd5 file extension is related to the Chasys Draw software and used for its picture image files.
File type category:
Bitmap image file
Date updated: April 3, 2018
The cd5 file extension is used for Chasys Draw IES's native image file format, which supports all the features provided by the suite. It is a tag-based container format for images and animations.
The current version is 3,05, and offers many enhancements over previous versions. Although CD5 is designed to be used as a working format (i.e. a format for storing work that is currently being edited or that may need to be modified later), it may be used for distribution because the policy is to support all versions of it in future versions. Common "lossy" formats such as JPEG may also be used where the recipient is not known to be using Chasys Draw IES.
CD5 format supports all image semantics available in the Chasys Draw IES suite. A few of these are:
- Metadata, including paths and text formatting (version 3,05)
- Layering (version 3,01)
- Animation (version 3,02)
- Multi-resolution (version 3,01)
- Lossless compression
- Transparency via independent alpha channel
- Large image support (up to 65,535 by 65,535)
- Multiple color-spaces and pixel formats
- Layer naming and comments (version 3,01)
- Spatial and wavelet sampling methods (version 3,01)
- Layer naming and comments (version 3,01)
- High Dynamic Range (version 3,01, currently not used)
- 16-bit-per-channel Sampling (version 3,01, currently not used)
- Tag-based container format (version 3,00)
Use Chasys Draw to open *.cd5 files.
Possibly can be converted like any other picture image formats.
