The CDV file extension is associated with SmartWare for Microsoft Windows. A CDV file contains a communications driver used by the software.
The file is intended to work as part of a SmartWare installation and is used by the program's communications functions. It is not normally edited as an independent data file.
Open a CDV file with the compatible version of SmartWare on Microsoft Windows. The file is normally loaded by SmartWare when required rather than opened directly by the user.
If SmartWare does not recognise the file, it may require the original software version or the rest of the installation files that supplied the communications driver.
A CDV communications driver file is not normally converted to another format. It contains software support data for SmartWare, not document content intended for export.
To retain it, keep the file with the corresponding SmartWare installation. If the goal is to preserve information handled by SmartWare, export that information from within SmartWare instead.
