Apple Qmaster was software from Apple Inc. that provided automated work distribution and processing for high-volume projects created with Shake, Autodesk Maya, Final Cut Pro, Compressor, DVD Studio Pro and UNIX command-line programs.
A .commanderdoc file contains data used by Apple Qmaster as part of this work-distribution system. It is an application document rather than a media file, and its data is intended to be used by Apple Qmaster.
Apple Qmaster was developed for Mac OS X and macOS. It is legacy software and is not included with current macOS releases, so these files are mainly encountered on older Mac systems that still have Apple Qmaster or related Apple production software installed.
Open a .commanderdoc file on a Mac with the version of Apple Qmaster that created it, if available. Double-click the file or use Apple Qmaster's Open command.
Current macOS versions generally do not include Apple Qmaster. If the file does not open, it may require an older Mac system and the original Apple software environment.
There is no generally supported converter for the .commanderdoc file format. It is an Apple Qmaster application document, not a conventional media or interchange format.
If the file opens in Apple Qmaster, use the application to access its contents or recreate the required work-distribution settings in compatible software.
