The cpo file extension is associated with ChessBase, a chess database program developed by ChessBase GmbH for Microsoft Windows.
A cpo file stores data used by ChessBase. It is part of the program's proprietary data system and may be used together with other files belonging to a ChessBase database.
The format is intended to be handled by ChessBase rather than by general-purpose applications. Individual database components such as CPO files may not be designed for independent use.
Open a cpo file with ChessBase on Microsoft Windows. If the file belongs to a database, keep it with the other related database files and open the database in ChessBase instead of opening the CPO file independently.
A CPO file may not contain a directly viewable document, so another chess program might not be able to open it correctly.
A cpo file is a ChessBase data component and is not normally converted on its own. Open the associated database in ChessBase and use the program's available export options if the data can be exported.
Do not remove or rename the file before opening the database, because it may be required by the associated ChessBase data.
